Again Jesus spoke to them, saying “I’m the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life’
Since the beginning of this year I have rediscovered my passion for photography. ‘Light’ is one of the things that I can’t get enough of. As winter rolls on, the sunrise and sunset times are slowly changing and I’m very aware of when. The best thing about it is a connection I make with God and a heightened awareness of His creation. It’s amazing how the most mundane things can look beautiful under His light. The picture above was shot at around 6:30am at Noroton Heights train station. Not incredible, but certainly it’s Gods work peeking over the trees on the horizon. Our passions can find that connection with God. Think about it today and see if you can find a connection through your passions.
Pray with me.
Heavenly Father, we give thanks for Your Light in this world. May that light shine even brighter when we make that connection with You – Amen!
I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us
Last week was another week of Andrew fighting his continuous battle to achieve perfection. I sometimes wonder if the image in my head gifted to me from God can actually be achieved on this earth. In fact, I don’t wonder, I know it can’t because I’ve tried to imagine it too many times in too many ways and it’s never realized. There’s too many variables. Too many opinions and personal tastes that can stifle the process and the outcome. It’s not anyone’s fault. God created us as individuals. It’s just the way it is. It’s the same in any job, not just mine. So, as I sit staring at a snowy, slushy, wet and slightly imperfect London I know that I need to strive on with all the patience, kindness, strength, creativity and peace that God can give me. Then at least it will be in His name and of His will regardless of the not so perfect outcome. I’ll perhaps wait to see perfection in heaven.
Pray with me
Heavenly Father, give us patience with those we work with. We pray that we’ll show them respect, kindness and love. For we know that if we love them, we love you – Amen!
‘In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth’
I only ever realize how human I am when I compare what I have to create to what God created. I occasionally get overwhelmed when I think too much about what I need to get done by the end of April. It’s a lot. I’m in the middle of the biggest thing I’ve ever taken on in my entire career. But, the good news is I have God on my side. The one who created the universe and everything else in 6 days. The one that designed all those intricate colors on the wings of a butterfly. It’s impossible to try to describe what He did. It doesn’t sound like He was too panicked by it either. Not if the Bible is anything to go by – ‘God made two great lights – the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars’.By the way, he also made the stars!
Compared to me, ‘And on Friday Andrew stared out of the window all day not being able to think of anything and if he did, it was rubbish’.So, we need God. It’s why we’re human. We can’t do what He can do alone. We need Him in us. Can I get 12 TV commercials and a 100 other things done by the end of April? No, but He can. What can He help you get done?
Pray with me
‘Heavenly Father, You’re the greatest designer and creator. You have blessed this earth with many talented and gifted people but they all fall short compared to you. Compared to what you have done and will always do. Help us to be thankful for you, always’ – Amen!
